An invitation to talk shop with People & Company.
At our workshop last week, we received so many great questions. This Thursday (4/23) we'll answer them live in our very first Popcorn Hour 🍿.
Hello friends. 👋
Thank you so much to the 300 of you who Zoom-ed into our workshop last Friday with Stripe!
In the midst of this isolation, trapped in our living rooms, it was *a thrill* for us to see folks from around the world tuning in. We had such a diversity of people join: founders, heads of talent, teachers, lawyers, and more from organizations like Indiegogo, Apple, and the World Surf League.
If you missed the presentation but want to watch the recording, our webinar “Back to Basics: How to Build a Community With Your People” is now up on YouTube here (or click play above).
Because we didn’t have time to address all of the questions we received at the workshop, we’re clearing time to answer them this Thursday.
Please save the date.
You’re invited to our weekly Popcorn Hour 🍿
Q&A time with People & Company on community and getting people together. Bring your questions. Answer others!
Thursday, April 23rd
9:30am–10:30am PT
(12:30pm–1:30pm ET)
We’ll host the conversation right here using Substack’s wonderful discussion threads. It’s simple to use. Thursday we’ll send you an invitation to join us in a thread. Just click it and you’ll be transported to a forum thread-type space you can jump into with your written questions and thoughts. (No video, just written responses. And yes, we will be eating popcorn). 🍿
As a group, we’ll chat through the burning questions you sent us and any more you lob our way:
COVID-19: How should you adjust your community building efforts for the current moment? What inspiring communities and shared activities are you seeing?
Failures: Can you talk about failures in leading your community? How did they happen and what did you learn?
Buy-in: Getting internal product owners bought in to co-creating and ideating with a community is often a struggle. Any tips for drawing them into the community?
Transformation: Is it possible to "rescue" the culture of a company when the focus for so many years is only product and not people?
Online / Offline: What’s the best online platform for community building? Do you have examples of communities that started mostly online and thrived offline?
Thanks again for your attention and thoughtfulness. We appreciate you.
Hope to chat with you on Thursday ✌️
